Position Summary
The Residential Trades Helper is an entry-level construction role focused on supporting skilled tradespeople with residential remodeling, repair, and home improvement projects. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on construction experience, learn multiple trades, and grow into a Residential Trades Specialist or Crew Lead role over time.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with residential construction and remodeling tasks including demolition, framing support, drywall prep, trim assistance, and general labor

Support carpenters and trades specialists with material handling, layout, tool setup, and cleanup

Assist with light residential electrical and plumbing tasks under supervision and within permitted scope

Help prepare job sites by setting up tools, staging materials, and maintaining safe work areas

Maintain job-site cleanliness and organization throughout the workday

Perform routine inventory reviews of tools and materials, reporting missing, damaged, or depleted items to the supervising Trades Specialist or Team Lead

Follow instructions, safety procedures, and company standards at all times

Transport tools and materials as needed between job sites

Communicate questions or concerns promptly to the supervising Trades Specialist or Team Lead

Represent the company professionally when interacting with homeowners and partners
Required Qualifications
-
Interest in residential construction, home improvement, or the skilled trades

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Willingness to learn carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general construction skills

Comfortable working at heights (ladders) and in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work in varied job-site conditions

Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications

6–12 months of experience in construction, maintenance, or a related field

Basic familiarity with hand and power tools

OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)

Familiarity with NJ residential construction practices

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
