As a Trades Specialist, you'll do skilled, hands-on residential work: carpentry, framing, drywall, trim, flooring, repairs, and light electrical and plumbing within permitted scope. You'll work independently, hold a high bar for quality, and coordinate cleanly with the rest of the crew.

Position Summary
The Residential Trades Specialist is a skilled, hands-on construction professional responsible for performing high-quality residential remodeling, repair, and improvement work. This role requires strong carpentry skills, working knowledge of multiple residential trades, and the ability to complete tasks independently while collaborating effectively with team leads, project managers, and other trades.
Key Responsibilities

Perform residential construction and remodeling work including carpentry, framing, drywall, trim, flooring, and general repairs

Complete tasks efficiently and to high-quality standards based on project scope and direction

Perform light residential electrical and plumbing work within permitted scope, including fixture installation, device replacement, and basic troubleshooting

Assist with rough-in and finish coordination to ensure electrical and plumbing integrate properly with other trades

Follow plans, drawings, and verbal instructions accurately

Identify potential issues in the field and communicate them promptly to the Team Lead or Project Manager

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

Properly use, care for, and transport tools, equipment, and materials

Work collaboratively with crew members, subcontractors, and supervisors

Represent the company professionally when interacting with homeowners and partners
Required Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or home improvement

Strong carpentry and general trade skills (framing, finish work, drywall, basic repairs)

Working knowledge of residential electrical and plumbing systems, including common layouts, materials, and best practices

Ability to safely perform non-licensed electrical and plumbing tasks where permitted

Ability to read and follow basic plans, scopes of work, and instructions

Comfortable working at heights (ladders, scaffolding) and in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics

Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied job-site conditions
Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Experience working alongside licensed electricians and plumbers

Familiarity with green building practices, energy-efficient construction, or smart-home installations

CASp certification or formal ADA compliance training preferred but not required

Familiarity with NJ residential construction practices and regulations

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
